9 exposure HDR. There’s a sad story behind this sugar refinery. The owner’s son fell into a vat of boiling sugar in 1865 a few years after it opened. After a few agonizing days, the child died. Years later, there was a drought, and the refinery was forced to shut down. It’s been there ever since.

We used to go out somewhere towards the North Shore where there was a biker bar by an old sugar mill. It was a rough place. I think there was at least one fight every night I was there.







how tragic! *goosebumps* I don't know if you watch Lost, but the mountains are totally a backdrop in the series.
