The ship yard had to keep track of its employees. The time clock was a relatively recent innovation in 1896. The first time clock was invented in November 20, 1888, by Willard Bundy, a jeweler in Auburn, New York.

Oh yes. These are definitely more recent, but I was just saying the time clock was invented around 1896. I added new info. 1888 to be exact. Great guess, though. I would guess about the same.

Bundy and his brother then went on to establish the Bundy Manufacturing company, which then went on (and a few mergers later) to become known as IBM.







Amazing how stuff like this just gets left behind. Everything back then seemed to be crafted versus mass produced. Great shots.
