In Der Spiegel

Der Spiegel’s website sent a little traffic over to the official Tunnelbug blog, Bearings. Unfortunately, I don’t know too much German, so they could be saying how terrible the photos are for all I know :-). If you watch the video and translate it, I’ll shoot over a free 8×10.

Jon, The television commentator begins in mid sentence: "... Too bad. My mailbox never gets any visitors. It feels abandoned and lonely just like these old-fashioned Chinese amusement parks do, which since the opening up of this country to the West, now hardly draws any visitors. The Neverland Ranch of pop "thingy" Michael Jackson fares similarly. From Bearings there are beautiful photos that were shot there just recently, which give an interesting peek into this little childrens' paradise. This, for example, is the large painting of the entry gate of [the city of] Hameln [of Pied Piper fame] ... and Neverland."

The article on this screenshot reads "On to Neverland The Chinese allow their amusement parks to fall into ruin since the country opened its doors to the West. Perhaps one should offer them a trip to Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. It has also been left to lie fallow. Photos of this - and much more - can be found at Ehrensenf." And then it lists several clickable links, including an article and photos on the Neverland Ranch.

a few minutes too late to get the free 8x10 ;-) The xlation is perfect. It's a slip at the end of her text that makes it in German: "...this, for example, is the large painting at the entry gate of Hameln ... äähh... Neverland"
