Out of Control
The mill, dating back to the early 1900s, contained an office with a complete grid of operations, which was emblazoned with dozens of small indicator lights. The complex – as seen through this map (as well as in person) was awe inspiring in magnitude.
Special thanks goes to This Empty World, Ursula, and Mr. Ni for an excellent day of exploration. Might I add, Dan was gracious enough to help me clean up a mess of paint ball splatters which some a’hole had indiscriminately fired at this beautiful piece of industrial craftsmanship. Little did the twerp know that the paintballs were water soluble, so Dan and I were able to delicately remove most of the paint prior to photographing it.

That is one of the most beautiful control panels I've ever encountered and the shot turned out great.

It's a good thing that the paint was easy to clean up. I mean, doing that kind of public service shouldn't be rocket science.

mid-century process control, before microprocessors.

It's like you're an archeologist, restoring a valuable artifact. Nice job. It looks great. This could be printed large and hung in a museum.
